So today we sat down and came up with a list of things to finish on the house before we can put it on the market. Researched the market values in our neighborhood and starting to explore FSBO. We made a run to Home Depot to purchase the tall items on the order; paint, caulk, drywall and mud. Then ran a few more errands and a quick meal at our favorite mexican restaurant, El Sarape.
There were cars everywhere! People everywhere. Like the day before Christmas. Then I remembered, I live in Green Bay, WI right now and tomorrow the Green Bay Packers play in the super bowl! The buzz was everywhere, people were tense, excited and in a hurry. Green and Gold everywhere. In a town of 200 or so thousand, this is a BIG deal! I’m not really a football fan and Craig’s team is out but I do hope those fella’s win. I really do.
On to maintenance and lists. Well, maybe starting Monday.
“There is nothing new under the sun.” The methodology of creating has always intrigued us. We have come to understand that everything we create comes from somewhere.
This course is designed to take the student on the exciting journey of uncovering the source of all creativity and to experience the deep connection between the Ultimate Creator and ourselves. By defining their creative source it will allow the students to experience a deeper understanding of the process of creativity. There by, being more connected to their work and developing an appreciation for other artistic expressions.
“Reflections” is a highly interactive course designed for personal and group expression. We will guide the students through a series of discussion about the methodology of creating and the exercise of creating a visual piece of art based on a word/sound source. The students will then form into groups and create a group song, story or poem based on the visual. The end result will be the opportunity to see their work move full circle. To create and to be the catalyst for further creation.
We will bring equipment for the song writing portion of the course but all art supplies need to be provided by the facility.
What is creativity? Where does creativity come from? Interpretations? Finding your voice? How music and art can speak? Becoming a catalyst for further expression?
Minimum number of students: We can work with any size group.
Length of workshop: We can work with any time table.
The Holland’s meet through music and find music to be a common denominator in their relationship. They enjoy writing together. Each offering different perspective, the end product is authentic and deeply rooted in their heritage. They are one part American dreamer, one part Aussie Charm and a splash of Gypsy love. This blog chronicles the Holland’s journey “From Here to There.”
Dreams and desires sit at the forefront of our minds but the reality of logistics and daily life sometimes offers more than one can handle. Yet, we continue on, with joy and excitement about all that is and is to come.
Our Dreams and Desires:
Over the past years we have been dreaming and casting out lots towards a simpler way. Our desire is to use our gifts and talents to connect and encourage community.
Our plan is to transition over the next 6 months by downsize from our 2600 sq. foot home to a home on wheels. This will allow us to cut costs on our current overhead and also give us flexibility in connecting with communities all over North and South America.
We’re starting to research how to sell our home and possessions, purchase an RV and veggie oil conversions, home schooling, insurance, and connecting with others doing a similar work.
Although our desire is to move along as “tent makers”, we know we will need some supplemental support. We are looking for folks that would like to offer encouragement through prayer, product and/or financial support.
If you would like to offer support or know of any kinsfolk out there that are interested in participating in this vision, we’d love to hear from you.
We would be delighted if you leave us a comment, suggestion or question.
